Extractions most commonly come up in conversation when a dentist is referring to impacted wisdom teeth, which have the potential to cause inflammation, infection, and even decay as they emerge and apply pressure on surrounding teeth. In some extreme circumstances, cysts can form around the wisdom teeth and put the health of your jaw bone in peril— In cases such as these extraction will be very highly recommended.
Performing a tooth extraction independent of your wisdom teeth is only considered at Iowa Park Dental after every attempt is initially made to save the tooth, inclusive of root canal therapy. If the tooth suffers due to trauma, if it is badly decayed, or an excess of bone loss has occurred around the tooth because of periodontal disease, then the Dr Ehrhardt may go ahead with an extraction, removing the tooth in order to maintain the health surrounding teeth and your mouth, as a whole.
